Women, often stereotyped as the “weaker sex”, now have something deemed “equal” to its brother organization, the Boy Scouts of America. It is the Girl Scouts. Previously known as the Girl Guides, Juliette Gordon Low is its founder, and the 1910’s “Woman of the Decade”. Juliette Gordon Low is a Savannah, Georgia native. Born on October 31st, 1860, Juliette Gordon Low is a well-educated woman who has traveled extensively since completing her schooling in New York City and Virginia. She married William Low, an Englishman, in 1886. Mrs. Low has a steadily intensifying hearing condition. Despite the deterioration and persistent loss of her hearing, she has accomplished great things in her life thus far
