Machiavelli reading analysis

Machiavelli discusses the concept of liberality, or generosity. He focuses on the influence that a prince will have on his subjects if he is too generous or not generous enough. I can relate to where Machiavelli is coming from with his concept of liberality. If someone has a reputation of being too generous, they can not just stop being generous. A prince can not be too generous to his subjects because eventually he will deplete all of his resources. If they stop being generous, others will immediately begin to notice. They will revolt when the prince tries to recover his loses through the increase in taxes. In my opinion, people have to find a balance between their liberality and parsimoniousness.
