MACBETH'S CHAracter analysis

ƒÜƒÓƒnƒnƒnin Macbeth,ƒnShakespeare uses contrast to add vividness to the depiction of his characters. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth¡¦s characterizations are enhanced by this contrast. In Macbeth, they both hunger for the same thing but have different views on obtaining it. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have strong ambitions yet they both have different levels of remorse and one of them is more willing to go all the way whatever the cost.
We first hear of Macbeth in the wounded captain¡¦s account of his battlefield courage. From the beginning we realize that Macbeth¡¥s physical courage is joined by a consuming ambition and a tendency to self-doubt. The prediction of becoming king brings him joy, but it also creates inner turmoil. Throughout the play Macbeth struggles with the qualities of bravery, an over zealous ambition and self-doubt.
