Learninig a third language

Being a bilingual person (Spanish and English) has not troubled me in learning concepts or grasping ideas in reading or writing in either of the two languages. Ever since I developed my ability to read and write, I have been able to do so in both languages. Since both of my parents spoke Spanish only, I learned to read, write, and speak Spanish well. Furthermore, at the age of three, I was sent to pre-school where I began my knowledge of the English language. Although I am now fluent in both languages, I do have an accent that a good listener can catch only when I use certain words or phrases in English. In Spanish, I also have an accent that can be heard by person who speaks Spanish well. Other than small accents, I can communicate well in both languages. Being fluent in English and Spanish has definitely been an advantage in all aspects of my life; however, in my experience in learning the French language, having knowledge of the Spanish language was a disadvantage, which ...
