Healthy Hair

The following preparations can be used to address some of the most common follicle complaints:

Do away with dandruff
Dandruff is caused by increased cell renewal in the scalp - usually as a result of poor diet, sluggish metabolism, hormone imbalance, or radical dietary change. Excess fat and sugar also cause changes in cell renewal or follicle secretions. Foods such as broccoli, eggs, nuts, liver, fish and bran, are recommended to prevent dandruff.

The wrap
5 drops rosmary oil
2 tbsp olive oil
Mix. Massage into scalp. Cover with plastic wrap. Leave overnight. Wash and rinse in the morning.

The scalp conditioner
2 tbsp fennel
2 tbsp nettles
2 cups boiling water
* For long hair, double up
Steep herbs in water for 20 minutes. Strain. Pour onto hair and work into scalp. Leave for 15 minutes. Rinse.
