FASHION OF THE 1800'S

Who ever said that the 1800’s did not have a sense of style? They had a very particular style and cared very much about what they looked like. Girls did anything to have long hair while guys wore powdered wigs and make up. Women would wear different accessories to make their waist’s look smaller, breasts look larger, and buttocks look more superior. The 18th century brought about new styles of jewelry and hair accessories.
If a man had a special occasion to go to, you would most likely see him wearing a powdered wig. The wigs were not cheap at all. They were equivalent to buying a hat, coat, breeches, shirt, hose, and shoes. They also had to be taken very good care of. Most men would take their wigs to the hairdressers to be combed, curled, and cleaned. The wigs were made of horsehair, yak hair, and human hair.
