Bathing through the Ages

PURPOSE: To inform my audience on how old our “accustomed” habit of bathing is.
THESIS: Today I want to share what I have learned about bathing, how bathing has been a necessary part of everyday life in some cultures, a social event in others, and a dangerous sin by still others.
INTRODUCTION
Attention Material: What is it about sitting in water that is so intriguing? Bathing, certainly, is not a difficult sport. All you need is yourself, a good sized tub, maybe some fragnant bath oil or aromatic soap and you are set. But what is so special that sets bathing apart from any other dozen or so domestic routines of the day?
Credibility Material: Bathing has, no doubt, been a part of the history of mankind since our earliest ancestors first sank their feet into the local watering hole.
