Author Entry: Joy Kogawa and her family were among the thousands of Japanese Canadians forcibly moved from the West Coast to the interior of BC or the prairies during WWII. She grew up in Coaldale, Alberta, and attended the U of C. She also spent a yeat studying music at the Toronto Conservatory of Music, and has worked as a correspondent in Prime Minister Trudeau's office.
