The Great Philosophers


Jesus and Socrates had many similarities. Both philosophers lived a simple life by their own right. Both philosophers were great teachers of their own time. Sadly, both philosophers were executed for their beliefs. Socrates was an ancient Greek philosopher whereas Jesus was the undying Jew. Though these great philosophers had many an era in between them, they had the same ideas in mind. Socrates resembling Jesus is simply stated in the fact that Socrates goal was to define, to name a few, just and reason.
Socrates mission as explained in The Apology was to expose the ignorance of those who thought themselves wise and try to convince his fellow citizens that every man is responsible for his own actions(Intro, Plato). In Euthyphro, Socrates was discussing with Euthyphro the meaning of pious. Pious, according to Euthyphro, was being loved by the gods. Socrates counter attacked his definition with the question
